Many new drivers tend to keep their foot on brake pedal at higher gear while driving downhill so that car is ready to stop at any movement but this practice leads to braking system over heating and wearing out brake pads and discs. The correct method to do is to shift to lower gear and initiate engine braking; reducing engine speed reduces vehicle speed which helps to reduce use of brakes. Don’t get panic while hearing roaring engine sound that is pretty normal. Professional race drivers often use technique to slow down while taking another turn.
